Kordia is now able to provide broadcasters both television and radio direct-to-home (DTH) distribution services.
These are delivered through the Optus D1 satellite at 160.0°E.
Digital broadcast satellite services are available from Kordia's head-end and up-linking facilities.
Kordia currently provides a range of terrestrial broadcast contribution services to New Zealand broadcasters. We can provide this service to transport satellite broadcasters’ content to the Avalon head-end.
Kordia's satellite television service can be received on a 60cm receiving dish where a clear line-of-sight to the Optus D1 satellite—located at 160.0°E—is present.
This satellite is also used by Freeview broadcasters Television New Zealand and CanWest for carriage of their free-to-air satellite channels. These include TVONE, TV2, TV3, and C4.

Kordia offers three quality levels on the DTH platform. The most appropriate service quality is dependent on the needs of the broadcasters and the content type proposed.
