Konica Minolta

Konica Minolta Business Solutions New Zealand Limited is a unique, independent, Australasian-owned and operated business, focused on the efficient management of information flow and the harnessing of new document technology.

With a goal of being New Zealand’s leading printer and document solutions’ company, Konica Minolta had a business critical need; a requirement for improved WAN manageability and application assurance for VOIP and other traffic.

“We also needed a Managed Service that did exactly as it was supposed to, without recurring issues that undermined network productivity,” says Brendon Avery, General Manager of IT at Konica Minolta.
With those prerequisites fixed firmly in place, Konica Minolta turned to Kordia and its IP Network solution, OnKor; a managed service built on a foundation of the Metro Ethernet Forum’s (MEF) Carrier Ethernet standards.

Providing high performance converged Ethernet and IP WAN solutions, OnKor gave Konica Minolta the manageability, network visibility, control and reliability they were looking for.

“We delivered OnKor’s E-lAN VPN option, and installed an end-to-end solution that made life easy for the customer,” says Mark Johnston, Account Director at Kordia. “The OnKor technology provided Konica Minolta with optimal ‘any to any’ site connectivity which meant they no longer had to deal with hub and spoke capacity inefficiencies.”

With a unique customer portal providing decision-ready information, Konica Minolta now has a level of visibility and control that allows the team to easily manage business outcomes.

Real-time VPN network usage is now at their fingertips. So too is information on real-time performance and blockages, and the ability to monitor and prioritise applications and bandwidth use.

“Working with Kordia has been a new experience for us - we’re ecstatic,” says Avery. “For the first time, we’ve been able to ‘turn on’ a new telco service, and it has worked perfectly. No bedding-in period. No teething problems. Nada.

“Not only that, the boutique service we’ve been getting from the Kordia team has been outstanding. At one point, we even had to ask their project team to slow it down for us a bit – we were not used to telco suppliers being so efficient!”

Supported by a Quality of Service plan outlining OnKor’s service levels and assurances, Konica Minolta is now reaping the benefits of a complete solution that meets their exacting requirements.
