Kordia has announced two new Wellington contracts that are putting its integrated, digital two-way radio solution - known as KorKor™ - on the map.
The most recent is a deal with the Wellington International Airport to replace its analogue communications system. Hutt City Council signed up in November last year following a review of its health and safety requirements.

Auckland-based telecommunications company Orcon is helping to steer an attempt by Shaun Quincey to emulate his father’s feat of rowing single-handed across ‘The Ditch’.
Shaun’s dad Colin did it in 1977, rowing from The Hokianga to Queensland. The son kicks off his attempt in early January, departing from Coff’s Harbour in northern New South Wales and aiming for Taranaki.
“There’s a big beacon to aim for in the ‘Naki – and it’s also the closest point,” he says.

Orcon customers are going to enjoy a great summer of video entertainment with the announcement that YouTube traffic from the ISP is zero rated until the end of January 2010.
From today Orcon customers can both download and upload as much as they want from the popular video content site without any fear of blowing out their data caps.
Until now Orcon customers have received zero-rated traffic from a selected range of popular New Zealand websites such as TVNZ and the company’s own email servers. YouTube is being temporarily included for the next two months.
